What I did during my summer vacation…

Day 6 – Resting up from a fun Day 5

But managed to take Katie and her friend to see another friend’s dance performance at Wando’s performing arts center. Carolina Dance with Sadie and company was wonderful and entertaining — and my legs are soar from watching these girls jump into the air and land on the hard stage repeatedly. I wanted to break out my tap shoes and join in — who knew that would ever enter my brain again, but my years of training by Ms. Lois Dangerfield’s school of dance in Moncks Corner definitely kicked in. I have glorious memories of dance recitals including the one that my mother could not attend because she was having a baby. I actually said that on stage into the microphone and I think I sounded like the most southern 5-year-old in the world. It is a vivid memory along with my grandmother curling my hair to resemble a psychotic Shirley Temple – and I swear part of my brain was pulled into those very tight curls. My grandmother could curl the hair of a dachshound if it was going to tap dance — and mine looked almost as good. Nice stroll down memory lane…hmmmm. And here’s photographic evidence. Can you see my brain matter? Shirley had nothing on me!
